It seems like the only times a unit can move backwards are:
1) evades (for lights who actually half turn, move, half turn)
2) disengaging
3) retreat from a zone of control (incurring a disorder)
Is it possible to move backwards while facing the enemy in any other circumstances? |

Basically, No. As troops may only have a single turn per move, it will take two moves
- Turn about and Retire, then
- Retire and Turn about.
Note, If the units start within 4U of any enemy, this sequence will take up two turns. |

Yes, but only for light troops for they can make a second turn at the end of their move (consequently their move distance is reduced from 1 UD) _________________ patrick lefebvre

To complete the matter, evading lights troops half turn, move, but do not half turn again at the end of their move. _________________ patrick lefebvre
