Does a unit with the Furious charge ability, count the furious if it has been charged by another unit. |

Ok thanks for that, it does seem a little odd that you get a Furious charge bonus when you have not charged. someone did explain that this may be due to the assumption that they in fact have counter charged. This must then be the case. (back to the drawing board, another plan ruined) |

I'm not sure I agree that it's odd, but I see how someone could take that view.
I do believe it's a very desirable way to write rules. Games where some unit gets the benefit of the charge against a stationary target is odder, and really makes for bad games.
It is odder, because it takes a continuous action and makes it discrete, and gives one side an advantage because of that abstraction. I suppose there are cases where someone might really be stopped on the battlefield and they get charged at the halt, but in the circumstance of wargames rules, it is just taking advantage of the nature of the abstraction.
It makes for bad games too. I remember what I think was the last game of DBR I played. My opponent and I both had Pi(F) troops. These are supposedly very aggressive cavalry. We sat outside charge range of each other, knowing that the person that moved into charge range would get charged at a disadvantage. That's really bad game design.
ADLG removes these kind of iffy historically, icky gamey situations through it's mechanism, and I applaud it for that. |

I agree with all you have said, I'm not unhappy with the rule, just wanted to make sure I have now got it right. I think these rules are fantastic and hope they soon gain more players in the UK. |
