Has anyone done any research on units with Pavise that are not crossbows?

What do you mean? Like identifying units in lists that have pavise, but aren't crossbow units?

Ghurids have spearmen that are classified as having pavise - but it represents a kind of padded armor iirc. Communal Italians have spearmen with pavise. Sumerians have spearmen with pavise.

Yes, that is what I am looking for. We ran an army that had them, and they certainly ignored the missiles. I started looking for spear/pavise units, and they are in deed quite rare.

I think the best combination would be a Mixed Heavy Spear Long Bow pavise unit. Off course, at 11 points it would be rather hard to build out a good sized army.
