I had a specific discussion with El Kreator on this.

In the next FAQ I believe he will rule.

When a unit is charged in the rear or flank. It no longer has ANY effect on the unit that it previously was attacking in the flank. So no ZERO effect any longer.

There is a new definitive answer to this vexed question up in the rules section.

Essentially both units that are in melee with two enemies have their base factor reduced to "0" and both are considered disordered, losing a cohesion point when the flank contact is made.

I am excited to see this ruling. I had ruled it correctly at Historicon and I am thankful we have a definitive answer.
