Have I understood the interaction between two opposed forces of Heavy Swordsmen Impetuous correctly?
As I read it if one group charges the other then the charging group are at a disadvantage; they are on +1 for being Swordsmen but don't get the Impetuous advantage because they charged swordsmen, whilst their opponents get both so are +2. And Furious Charge applies whoever wins.
That feels a little odd and raises interesting questions about how you support blocks of troops of this type.

Check p. 27
"...the impact of impetuous foot is cancelled when charging non-impetuous medium or heavy swordsmen..."
Furious charge applies against all foot units. |

Thanks Ethan.
The play sheet doesn't say that. But you're right the book does (although it took me a while to find it - it's p17, I think you mistyped '27').
I can see that raising eyebrows in competitive play!

Furious charge does not apply in the following cases
4th bullet
If the opponents are foot units in frontal melee and if both units have the furious charge ability
So two opposing barbarian armies with impetious foot fighting each other would keep their impetious +1 and +1 for sword but neither would get the benefit of a furious charge |
