Here is the example Examples :
A medium spearmen is charged by a Cv:
 Medium spearmen = 1 + 1 Impact = +2
 Cv = 1 + 1 bonus vs MI = +2
A medium spearmen is charged by an Impact Cv:
 Medium spearmen = 1 + 0 (no Impact) =+1
 Impact Cv = 1 + 0 (Impact cancelled by spearmen) =+1
So by the non impact cav example in a second round of combat the non impact cav would be a +2 vs the spearmans +1 ( not including melee modifiers for cohesion) is this correct ? In the impact cav example the cav still gets Furious charge does it not ?
If these are both correct it seems that non impact cav are better than impact cav vs medium spearman .

non-impact cav (indeed all Cv) in second round is +1 - they only get a bonus in the first round.

Thanks all starting to make sense now where does it say impact cav cannot disengage ? I can only find page 44 as a reference.

p44 is disengage.
impact cav is not restricted.
