I would consider putting the EL in the strategist's command. That way there will always be enough pips to move everyone. Also, the increased command range will help if the CV or LH wander away (to raid the camp, for instance).

Vincent Auger finished 2nd of Petite Guerre Masters (only Masters and Great Masters) with a Ghaznevid army of only 17 units !

I will never try to play such army list but I can understand what Vincent wanted to have : A quick kill army with a lot of command point for rallying and manoeuver.


At Cavaillon 2016 last week end, Jean François Gilles play a Timourid army with only 18 units (but 22 effective units with expendable ones)

In the top 10, there was 9 players that was Great masters in one time of their carreer at AdG, so it's another proof that "size doesn't matter" (lol)

Hi Guys thanks for your input and replies they are very interesting and useful. I am just a mid level player based on FoG and WRG comp results I like the Central Asian armies and I just wanted to know the that the Timuird is a playable army as I noticed the ELO for it was 49%.

Any other suggestions would still be very helpful.

I think the generally consensus about Timurids is this:
1) It is one of the better steppe horse armies
2) It has a lot of power to pry people apart
3) As your opponents learn to cope with the Steppe army style, you win rate will nose dive and you will abruptly have to learn new skills.
4) Its a heck of a lot of fun.


The only reason I don't run it, the cool kids got there first.
