1. Is it possible to deploy a command behind another command, the rules only state, "the relative position of each corps to the others must be respected" p71, the examples seem to indicate that the corps are all deployed left to right. I am not advocating a floating command in the rear, but a very specific deployment map, that leaves no uncertainty.
2. If a general moves, does it then cost an additional 2 CP to rally a unit, or can the general move and rally a unit with 1 CP.
3. Can an imbedded general rally another unit, as per an unattached general?
4. A mixed unit of sword/bow is fighting cavalry to its front, what bonus if any does the mix unit receive?
Cheers Glen. |

1) No. see latest FAQ p12, deploying the corps
2) an unattached general can use his CP to move to a unit, but must spend additional CP to rally the unit, depending on circumstances
3) An attached general cannot move to another unit, so can only use his CP to move / rally the unit he is with. Equally he cannot influence rallying a different unit
4) when charged, the unit gets +1 for bow receiving a cavalry charge, but fights as one class lower (mediocre if the unit is 'standard' etc) |

correction:
4) The mixed unit counts as Sword facing the Cavalry, so it's basic factor is 1. If it loses the initial round of combat it will count as having missile support so gets a further +1. |

No, but you can get a similar effect. You move the command you want in front forward first, then you move other commands behind it.
Obviously this works best with more mobile troops, and you can speed things up by deploying commands facing to the side so they are ready to move in. It just takes a bit of planning and careful deployment.
Whether and when it is a good idea are other questions! |
