This is a good point , the question came from my opponent who is used to more convoluted language .
Playing these rules people often look for indirect interpretations because that's what they're used to I love the rules because they are so straight forward .
However I don't think p39 is as clear as you suggest Hazelbark . Its says at 1 UD first try to slide , then wheel to avoid .
No mention of first wheel to interpenetrate if possible . It kinda depends on how you define "avoid"
I agree with the easier , more logical interpretation but God help me against a Rules Lawyer in the Nationals |

Well, as i all tournaments: If the referee calls it, its true, at least for the tournament.
