|
Hello all
I'm constructing a Bosporan kingdom army from my old DBM army
and I'm just after some advice on the lists I've come up with.
1st list
corps1
Brilliant General C-in-C
4 heavy cavalry impetuous Elite
6 heavy cavalry impetuous
corps2
Ordinary General
4 bowmen
2 medium spearmen (Greeks)
4 medium swordsmen 2HW (Thracians)
2 Slingers
Corps3
ordinary general
10 Light cavalry bow
I constructed the list this way rather than have Heavy cav and light horse in corps 1 and 3 because the army only has a command rating of +2 this way I can hopefully manourver the impetuous cav a bit more easier plus the light horse command will be able to range much further without heavy cav to worry about depending on cp rolled.
I haven't had the pleasure of a game yet my first game will be very soon
and I'm not sure if 1 command of all light horse and one of all heavy cav is viable.
the second list is
corps1
Competent general C-in-c
4 heavy cavalry impetuous Elite
1 heavy cavalry impetuous
5 Light cavalry bow
corps2
Ordinary general
4 bowmen
4 medium spearmen (Greeks)
2 medium swordsmen (Thracians)
2 Slingers
1 Javelinmen
corps3
Competent general
5 heavy cavalry impetuous
5 Light cavalry bow
the list is more ballanced but with lighthorse and impetuous cav in both corps 1 and 3, I feel these commands may get themselves into trouble with bad die rolles for cp
But again not having played before I haven't got a good feel for the rules yet
Any advice most welcome
Regards, Zoranno |

I thought it seemed a bit good for 200.
I'm new to AdG (my rules are still in transit from the UK) but I'll have a look from a DBx background, and the advice I received recently for my attempt at an Avar list.
That said, you'll do better with advice from proper AdG players!

Although I am not a very successful player, I would advise against squandering all your leadership points on one command. It would be much better to have two corps led by competent commanders and one corps led by an ordinary commander. Assuming that your impetuous units are led by a competent commander, you should still be able to prevent an uncontrolled charge on a command roll of 2+.
I would also suggest that you limit the number of models that you include in each corps, as you will never have enough command points to do everything you want. I tend to place three 'groups' with each competent commander and only two 'groups' with each ordinary commander.
Regards,
Jesse |

10 LH is waaaaaay too many.
They don't really function in the same way as they do in DBM - you maybe will use 2-3 at most to support a proper Cavalry force, but 10 in a block will just get swept off table, especially if you move 2nd. _________________ www.madaxeman.com |

Sounds like a little mosquito force could be the answer. 2-3 LH with a couple of HC including a General.

You'll probably want six LH in total, so as to get the +2 inititive |
