What happens if player A does a group charge with 6 units against player B's line which contains 4 units. To keep things simple they are face to face no wheeling etc. Do the units that belong to play A that would form an overlap stop when the rest of the group stop on contact or can they move past if they have any movement left? e.g.
.BBBB. or ABBBBA
AAAAAA AAAA
If they were not centred is this possible?
A.BBBB
AAAAA
The aim is to have after the charge a unit in position to flank charge player B's line in the next turn of Player A. |

According to the charge rules (p36 third para):
As soon as your group contact the enemy, the units in contact conform to it and the other units can pursue their move (splitting the group if necessary).
In your case :
. BBBB. will be .BBBB.
AAAAAA
AAAAAA
Du to the conformation of the 4 "A"central units. The 2 extra "A" are in contact (corner) so do not continue their move and will fight as overlap.
If you really want to be in a flanking position for the following turn , you have to execute 2 different moves :
first then
.BBBB. .BBBBA
AAAAA AAAAA
A
Other case is
.BBBB.
AAAAAA
then the rightest "A" unit may pursue its move after the 5 others had conform to B (but they are no more grouped)
.BBBB. A

Thanks.
A follow up questions can enemy units slide past each other with there base sides touching each other or because their corners touch first they need to charge? |

A contact corner to corner is a valid contact and the charging unit has to conform to the ennemy unit. (see FAQ p2) _________________ "Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead"
