Hi.
I'm new to ADLG, but not to wargaming in general. I would like to ask you which option (and which ally for it) seems to be the best option for inexperienced player ?
Slavs, or
Magyars, or
Imperial Frankish, or
Feudal Polish before 1150, or
Feudal Hungarian before 1150.
I have a decent collection of X/XI-cent. miniatures (Poles, Slavs, Magyars, Germans, even Vikings) so I have some options to choose from.
Apologizes for my poor English. It's hard to teach an old dog new tricks |

Hi Kretus,
welcome. It's good to hear from new players in far away places.
It's difficult to give specific advice at such an early stage. I would say keep it simple and go with what you know for the first few games to get a feel for how the rules work.
If you need ideas for particular armies you can search this forum or maybe visit madaxeman.com which has an ADG Wiki containing a growing number of lists from competition games.
It's also worth checking madaxeman.com for battle reports which often include explanations and tips about the rules.
Regards,
Dave

Kretus I noticed you are selling some 100 HYW figures why do not paint them as a Free Company army it is pretty straight forward army to use. It does not require a lot of figures but has a little bit of variety. |

I've already read most of Madaxeman's battle reports.

Those on sale are my friend's own. I've painted mine already, just need to make new bases. Maybe I'll try, but I'm more interested in dark ages. And I have no proper opponent for them.

The core of frankish, hugarians and poles is impetuous cavalry. This troop is difficult to play, as are impetuous. However, it's very fun.
I suggest you to use a cmmand of infantry with medium foot and bowmen, and 2 cavalry commands with CV, LH and LI.
Don't forget dismounted troops for cavalvry, it's may be used again elefant's armys. _________________ "Quand on a pas de technique, faut y aller à la zob"

Magyar is a classic army of horse archers, it's always a good army. You have to take a good command to have points to move. (i may have use too much"to"??). _________________ "Quand on a pas de technique, faut y aller à la zob"
