Situation:
Column of Cataphracts fighting to the front.
Gap on the left side slightly over 1UD in width to next command.
That command is fighting to the front.
In that gap is an enemy Cav unit providing support at an angle where its front left corner is behind the front line of the Cataphract unit in combat.
I wanted to do an extension to the cataphrats column to bring the second unit into battle.
The point of contact will be behind the front line of the lead Cataphrats.
query points
P36: An extension or contraction that brings the front or more units in contact with the enemy is also considered a charge.
Part of Evade Procedure
P40: Charge movement min for foot 1 UD and 2 UD for mtd.
If the Cav does not elect to evade does the charge movement min under P40 still count or not.
P54: unable to conform would be taken into consideration. |

This also seems like the 2nd cataphract could just slide over in a charge and contact as well? Not clear why you need the extension.

Yes and your query is?

The minimum charge distance is for when ALL enemy evade. If enemy is only 1/10th of a UD away that is still a normal charge.

Potentially. But once that Cataphract contacts it will attempt to conform. Why not legal here? |

On P28 A slide movement can only be done with a min 1 UD forward move.
The distance for 2nd Cataphracts is less than 1 UD forward.
Is the min distance for this canceled if it contacts enemy within that 1UD or does it need to do a complicated quarter turn and wheel. |

Interesting spot - p28 explicitly says 'during a charge'...! That's presumably why El Kreator allowed the Extension to be counted as a legal charge as well I guess...?

Looks like min distance only applies if you slide as a single unit, but as you can get into contact with an extension - which is done by the whole group - there is no 'slide' by the unit, so the point becomes moot. _________________ www.madaxeman.com |
