I found the section that says for evades you roll adjusted movement die as a group but I can not find anything about charges. For charges do you roll adjusted moment die as a group or by unit? |

Charges move their normal speed.
EXCEPT p 40 end of first graph, "ALL TARGETS" evaded. Note targets includes any in path in normal move.
In that same first paragraph it says chargers that have had all targets evade roll on the table in point 5. The adjusted movement distance table.
Since section 5 applies. The rule for each group or sub group applies just as evaders. |

If you are trying to lure impetuous troops into a trap etc while they will be forced to charge they can keep their line together very easily. I can understand it for non-impetuous troops but once impetuous troops start charging at evading enemy I would have thought their line should start break up. |

To get the impetuous troops to break up you really need to dangle bait at them from the flanks in order to get 1 or 2 units rushing off to the side. If you dangle bait straight ahead you need to rely on them splattering it instantly and so being forced to pursue after combat with less than their entire line.

Impetuous troops are not supposed to horrible.
They become very unwieldy after the action has started.
But if they only have to advance straight to contact an enemy the are fine.
The trick is to start forcing the them to turn and wheel. |
