If you are position to charge a unit in the flank but are prohibited from doing so because a ZOC prevents your conforming are you allowed to make the same charge but then conform to the front and forgo the advantage of the flank charge?

you can if the contacting unit starts his move with his front at least partially before the front line of the contacted unit. if you start entirely on the flank, you can only contact the flank and in case of unfriendly ZoC cannot do anything else
