A unit of three bowmen are partially in terrain B1 is wholly in terrain, B2 is partially in terrain and B3 is wholly in the open.
Opposite these are three cavalry C1 is largely opposite B2, C2 is largely oppoisite B3, and C3 has no opposing enemy.
The cav charge and the cav elects not to conform as this would take him into disrupting terrain. C1 has contacted both B2 and B3, C2 has contacted B3 only and has some of its frontage facing nothing.
Do either B1 or C3 count as support in this situation?
Cheers Glen. |

Yes. Both B1 and C3 provide support. |

When you say "C1 is largely opposite B2" that suggests to me that more of C1 is opposite B2 than is opposite B3? If so, this suggests that less than half of B2 is in the terrain/most of B2 is outside the terrain. Otherwise, C2 would conform in the opposite direction from the terrain, against B3 (if that were the shorter distance).
As conformation is largely an aesthetic game mechanic (and in this case optional for the cavalry) it seems "right" that C1 still fights B2, C2 fights B3, C3 supports C2 and B1 supports B2. |
