We had a situation where a command that was hesitent, also had an enemy ambush about 3.5 UD's from it. Based on how the rule is read in English, the hesitent command goes reliable if an enemy unit moves within 4UD's. If the Ambush is revealed by a friendly unit of the hesitent corps, but the Ambush itself does not move, does the hesitent corps go reliable?

If any unit is revealed from an ambush with 4 UD of an hesitent corps, it cause the corps to go reliable. The ambush itself is not sufficient.
An hesitent corps unit in ambush permit te corps to go reliable only if an ennemy unit comes at 1 UD.

I was about to post a query on this very subject when I found this old thread. I'm not sure the question has been fully answered, so I'm rephrasing it.

If an unreliable corps has troops in ambush and enemy are 3UD from them, that does not trigger reliability. Understood - enemy have to approach the ambush within 1UD to trigger reliability.

If, during the ambushing player's turn, the ambush is disclosed, without "moving or expending CP", the by now non-ambushing troops are within 4UD of enemy, so does that trigger reliability? Surely yes, but I guess the real question is whether you are allowed to voluntarily disclose unreliable ambushes in your own go.

Nice try, but the FAQ (page 16) says that the hesitant corps cannot even reveal an ambush unless the enemy come to 1 UD. At which time it becomes reliable anyway.

Btw, that's to 1 UD, not within 1UD.
