I've got a load of Viking / Anglo Saxon / Norman models and am looking to put together a 200 point army for Roll Call for some enjoyable battles.
Is having some Cavalry essential or not?
I can do Viking / etc armies, are there any others that these models would do that I haven't thought of? Franks?
Are Heavŷ Spearmen a viable troop type for the core of an army?Â
Any advice for this? |

| Viking interesting choice it will keep or opponent guessing hvy swordsmen, med impetuous swordsmen or have you gone Leidang with spearmen. Why would want hvy cav who are not impact or impetuous or do not have a bow? You are down grading you best troops who should be leading the fight to a type who that has a supporting role. |

In a tournament, we are supposed to tell the opponent the chosen option and date of the list (in this case, is it Leidang or Viking ?), so it takes away a wee bit of the surprise ...

| Once you start deploying or have deployed here the organizers list the player and list "Viking Leidang" the score board does not specify details. All the information you have is next game I am playing against player X with a Viking Leidang army and especially if it happens to be a comp with a two list option then you are not going to know what you are up against until the figures are go down. |
