See note on top of the page 42.
[..] up to the full movement distance of the charging unit, plus one UD [..]
Why plus one UD, where is the reference to this additional distance (I don't think it is about the possible adjustment, otherwise you had to state "either plus or minus one UD) |

It is about possible adjustement. in the exemple P42 medium swordmen impetuous are in charging distance of a perfidious gang of LI, with CV un it UD rear.
So, LI must evade and MI made a adjusting move roll. If they roll 5 or 6, they must make 4UD range and so reach cavalery. But impetuous footmen are not subject to impetuous charge if target is mounted troops.
As there is no problem if charging move suffers -1, it's said +1UD only _________________ "Quand on a pas de technique, faut y aller à la zob"

You overlooked that in the example page 42 the chargers are not Medium Swordsmen but Heavy Foot (HI) who have 1 UD move less.
Anyway, based on your explanation, the full movement distance of the charging unit, mentioned in the example on p42, includes the adjustment -
and that's the point - the example text makes no reference to the adjustment.
So no wonder that a newcomer like me can interpretate the "plus one UD" as a FIXED additional distance, but will not find the reference in the rules for.
All clear now, merci. |
