|
I am looking for a Medieval Army with heavy knights that has some flexibility at the later half of the 14th or early 15th century. I have used both Free Company and Navaresse in FoG but I am not sure how well they will play in ALDG. Any suggestions? |

Try Italian Condotta. Lots of options there so will take a while until you find a list that works for you. I prefer Venetian myself.

I have seen free company and Navarrese work well.
Agree Condotta is more flexible. Venetian for mauve. Florence for foot.
Most of the lists are viable depends on your flavor.Medieval Spanish and French and German are all decent.
I'd avoid the british isles as those are the most different from the rest.
So do you want hammer, maneuver, history, cuisine? What intrigues you? |

Thanks guys I will look into the Condotta.
To answer Hazelbark's question what do I want well if it is a game at the end of a long week then it is the hammer with a couple of beers and a chat. Then if I want stretch my skills I pick a maneuvering army and hope I do not cock it up.
I have read a couple of books on Hawkwood and the Free Companies so this army does appeal to me but it is only the hammer. I really need to look at the cuisine first. |

Well if its cuisine then Condotta
Florence has a solid foot force.
Venice has a more diverse array of mounted. |

I have had a look the Cypriot Frankish list after 1300 it looked interesting Heavy Knights and Turkish light horse seems like a good combo. What do people think of this list? How does it do in comps? |

I used it at Britcon last year with mixed results. I had a late list. The spear got mangled by heavy foot with 2HW in 2 battles. I enjoyed using it though.
