Situation was:
Two LI javelin in the open just in front of a field are charged by two LC bow from 1UD away

LI evade, roll up, and actually clear the field and end up in the open. LC also roll up and end in contact with the LI, front edge in the open terrain but back of base still in the field

We played it as:

LI: base factor 0, no javelins
LC: base factor 1 v LI in the open, +1 for rear contact, -2 for rough terrain, nett factor 0 (to add insult to injury one of the LI rolled a 6 against the LC's 1, dead LC)

Does that interpretation seem right?

True, except that page 40, last paragraph under 7 - Charge movement, says '...(unless the charging unit consists of light troops)…'

i had same thought and so checked rules. only loose cohesion if hit by non lights
