The idea was to have a more horse archer driven event and fewer Elephant or Camel based armies.
Most of India and SE Asia are out of scope purely to avoid the massed occurrence of 'Death Star' formations
Hence it is East is East, not East is South East ... or similar

The Baldwin/Fry list was submitted, checked and 'locked' ahead of any other lists being submitted
But as you will no-doubt be well aware, any perceived advantage Mike & I might have (in seeing all your lists in advance of play) is completely negated by our total incompetence.
And before you ask ... we are using Sui Chinese ... the choice of true gentlemen
Looking forward to seeing you all at the event ... and even better news ... they've stopped charging entry to Wales over the Seven Bridge - so more money to spend at Firestorm Games. |

I think the draw is driven by the new ranking led system - but Colin can no doubt correct me if I am wrong. |

No Civil Wars - call your self a true Byzantine or Chinese Emperor or Arab Caliph???
Civil Wars are a real test of generalship ... it will be interesting to see if and how the small tweaks in the many Nikephorian Byzantine and Ghaznavid lists will play out in practice.
The general way that the initial rounds of 'UK AdlG West' competitions have been drawn of late is based on the UK rankings - it has generated a much fairer and more representative set of results and stops a top player drawing a 'newbie' in round 1 and potentially dominating the competition with a massive early win!
It also means that the newer less experienced players don't get hammered into throwing in the towel and going off to play another set of rules - as they can manage reasonable scores early on.
Army date wont really work here as the Ottomans will mostly end up fighting each other - being the later of the submitted lists.
The 2nd, 3rd and 4th rounds are then based on the actual competition results over that event, using Colin's magic laptop.
The 193 BP army will be an interesting one to play |
