At Britcon this year there will be one ADLG period comprising:
15mm Ancients - Two Themes - one Competition!
The even will run with 8 games over the weekend, (Friday night, 4 games on Saturday and 3 games on Sunday) with;
Rounds 1-4 being played with armies from the Ancient, Roman and Dark Ages lists (1-171) plus the American lists (excluding the Conquistador Option post 1519 for the Texcalan army #273)
Rounds 5-8 being played using lists from the Feudal-American lists (172-283).
Allies must be taken from the same set of lists as the main list
Any dateline is allowed for these lists, however no Knights are allowed in the early period. This means that lists 128, 134, 148 and 152 (and any others we've missed that you can find!) cannot include Medium or Heavy mounted or foot Knights.
If Knights are 'optional' in a list in a given dateline you can chose not to take them but still take other options valid in that dateline. If they are compulsary in specific datelines however, those entire options may not be chosen.
200 points
Standard sized tables of 120cm x 80cm. Players must bring their own terrain pieces
The long format of Britcon allows a significant number of games to be played over the weekend. The provisional timetable is as follows:
Friday : 6:00pm earliest start, play to a conclusion or around 11:30 pm when time will be called.
Saturday 0830-1045, 11:15-1330, 14:30-1645, 1715-1930
Sunday 0830-1045, 11:15-1330, 14:30-1645
Scoring will be done on the French system.
When time is called there will be a 'hard stop' to the games - put the dice down, and work out the result. We know there are pro's and cons to this system, but it is the same for everyone and greatly helps the overall organisation of the whole event (we are inputting scores and calculating draws for other events too) by preventing games dragging on and holding up the scoring.
Umpire : Tim Porter,
List Checker : Tim Porter
List submission deadline August 1st

Looking at the ticket pricing.
I'm puzzled as to why 25mm players play less games and are charged a £1 to £2 premium per game to do so compared to the 15mm players. _________________ Player 747 don't call me Jumbo |

Not sure about your calculations Richard, six games at £40 = £6.66 per game while eight games at £50 = £6.25 per game.
Although I do wonder about 25mm being the only competition to attract a £3.23 fee - possibly an admin error?

That's something one cannot ignore.
As a Engineer who once designed fans one never ignored shit.
43.23 ÷ 6 = 7.20
Or if only 5 games are given not 6.
43.23 ÷ 5 = 8.64.
So 95p or £2.39 if you don't like £1 to £2.
Seems odd to me. _________________ Player 747 don't call me Jumbo |

The venue rental costs to stage both events are identical, although the per player table hire cost is actually greater for 25mm than 15mm. Britcon overall runs as a break even operation - so there’s no science to it, just a finger in the air reduction for less games/to encourage a new period.
Also, if you are the kind of Wargamers Whois turned on by long division, fractions and decimal points I think there maybe other Ancients games you could be better suited to playing  _________________ www.madaxeman.com |

I'm easily discouraged Tim.
So does Britcon put 15mm on smaller tables then?
Not floating in the middle of a 6 by 4? _________________ Player 747 don't call me Jumbo |

Yes - so does Roll Call, Warfare and quite a number of other events as well. The sheer numbers now entering ADLG tournaments mean its difficult not to go down that route _________________ www.madaxeman.com |

We are pretty confident that Manchester will still be there post-Brexit, and that the UK as a whole will still be in the same position geographically relative to Europe as well so I think you can buy tickets and flights in confidence ....! _________________ www.madaxeman.com |
