Somewhat late to the ADLG party I've been working through the rules.
As I began my preparations for my first ADLG competition I was inspired by Alan Cutner's post on the ADLG Yahoo! group to develop my own reference sheets. A link to the resultant pdf is available here along with an explanation of my aims.
On the suggestion of Tim Porter I'm posting this here in case it's of use to anyone or even the Technical Committee. Feel free to download and use as you wish. Please leave any feedback, suggestions or corrections in the comments section of the blog post.
I've also designed some unit cards. These are really simple aids to help me memorise the base factors in ADLG.
Again feel free to download and use as you wish. Please leave any feedback, suggestions or corrections in the comments section of the blog post.
To contact me please use the contact form. It's in the blog page footer. _________________ Martin Stephenson

You can't find a link to download the cards because there isn't one.
To help: if you click on the page image and then right click and select view file you should see the full size A4 version which you can download and print.
I have plans to release the data, and the nanDeck card template, once I have used a few more troop types. This would allow people to create their own cheat sheets. If you would like an early version get in touch. You will need to be a bit "techie" at this stage. _________________ Martin Stephenson

Just a quick note to say the full page of unit cards has a few errors. I have removed the full page image and will upload a corrected version in due course. _________________ Martin Stephenson

Coming from a background of non ancients games. I have had a bit of a time learning this game. I'm really happy with your work and I will be giving it a go the next time I play. I'll let you know how it helps out a complete rookie. _________________ Immortals... we put their name to the test. |

Today I have been working on some diagrams mainly around flank contact. Some were easy and some aren't finished yet. Hope to have them online in 48 hrs. _________________ Martin Stephenson

Diagrams now online:
Citation: | When I was writing the DBMM for the Befuddled series I found that simple diagrams were very powerful and I decided to produce a few for ADLG flank attacks. Some of this may be obvious to more experienced players but my intention is to help the novice (that's me!).

New blog post:
Citation: | Lots of my commanders (generals) are on 40x30 mm bases and date from when I played DBMM. For ADLG they should be on 40 mm square bases.
As I use steel bases the solution was simple: 40 mm square sabot bases made from 2 mm MDF and scarps of magnetic vinyl. Now my commanders don't get confused with regular units as they are on the right sized bases with a 40x10 mm black strip at the rear
The sabots work really well but being a "bear of little brain" I still find it hard to remember which type of commander I've decided to use. At the moment it's changing almost every game. As a result I am always referring to the army list breaking the flow of the game.
Today's project was to produce a set of magnetic labels to apply to the 40x10 mm gap at the back of my 40 mm square sabot bases. |
