Suppose there is one line of friendly LMI Bw that is 0.5 UD from a line of enemy and directly behind the bows are MI Sw (non-impetuous).

Can the MI Sw interpenetrated the Bw and push the Bw back to make room for the MI Sw?

Such as:

Start:

ENEMY

0.5 UD GAP

LMI BW

MI Sw

End:

ENEMY

MI Sw

LMI BW

Yes, provided the MI Sw are not impetuous (see interpenetration definitions)

Here, when the MI Sw interpenetrate the LMI Bow, it is the Bow that gets displaced (per p39). In this case, the LMI Bow may do nothing else for the rest of the turn. Note, this is true irrespective of the size of the gap between the various units, as long as the LMI Bow are not actually in melee.

If it was a line of LI being interpenetrated, they may still move after the MI charge into contact. etc. This means that the LI can be moved into melee support (assuming there is a spare CP). |
