Thanks to Orlando and his team of organisers for a great weekend. Here is a poem I have written about it.
"The Lusitania Challenge"
Wargamers to Lisbon did go
On the banks of the River Tejo.
Several valued their lives
So they came with their wives
Who went shopping and spent lots of dough.
We all met at Museo Marinha
Where team uniform tee-shirts were seen, yeah.
A display of some fashion
For wargaming passion
Though some players were somewhat senior.
For two days we had wargaming fun
As the Lusitania Challenge was run,
Playing ADLG
Is most pleasant, you see
(Except if you keep rolling 1).
The top-scoring team came from Greece.
There were French, Spanish and Portuguese.
Finland, Aussie, U.K.
Italy, USA
Yorkshire, Germans and Irish Wild Geese.
It was great to meet friends, old and new
Whilst those capricious green dice we threw.
I hope I will return
And a trophy I'll earn.
If I could roll not less than 2. |
