On page 20 of the English rules translation, it provides as follows under Medium Cavalry: "Add +1 in first phase vs MI except if cavalry already has impact."

Is this +1a bonus for impact giving the cavalry a Furious Charge against MI under the second bullet below "Furious Charge" on page 58?

Does a Roman HI unit with impact which is not impetuous get a +1 for impact to melee if it frontally charges a Gallic Warband? How about if it is frontally charged by a Gallic warband. The rule on page 17 under impact suggests that it gets both.

The rules on Page 13 under "Medium Swordsmen" and "Heavy Swordsmen" provide for the cancellation of the impact of "impetuous infantry" when the swordsmen receive the charge on their front.

A literal ruling of the rule on Page 17 seems to indicate that the Gauls also receive the +1 for Impact as the Romans did not "receive the charge on their front edge" but instead initiated the charge.

These issues actually come up with some frequency when Mithridates faces Vercingetorix.

My answers:
case 1): no furious charge given, it is not an impact capacty given to the cavalry against MI, however cavalry still have furious charge against bowmen (LMI)
case 2): if the roman HI charge gallic, both have impact. If gallic charge the roman HI, only the roman have impact, the gallic loose his one. However, in both situation, the gallic keep the furious charge effect.
